The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS)

The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) is a prominent open schooling system in India that provides flexible and inclusive education options. Open Schooling courses

Secondary Course : NIOS Class 10, also known as the Secondary course, can be taken by anyone with age 14 and students can select 5 subjects from approximately 32 subjects (including languages) and prepare for the exams whenever they want. The learners receive an SSLC Certificate upon completion of this course. This course is helpful for working professionals and those who ended their school education in the middle.

Examination :

The final examination is conducted twice a year in the month of April and October.

Age limit :

14 years or over

Senior Secondary Course : NIOS Class 12/ Senior Secondary Course, can be taken by anyone with age 15 and 10th class pass certificate. It assists students in completing their higher secondary education through Distance Learning. Participants can learn at their own pace and take their exams whenever they want. The course has been specifically designed to meet the needs of working professionals and those who have dropped out of school but wish to advance in life through education.
